From January 2 the lanes in front of the departure hall at Warsaw Chopin Airport will become a Kiss & Fly Zone, which is a place for a short stop for private vehicles. The change will make it easier for the passengers arriving to the airport by car to access the terminal.
Warsaw Chopin Airport launches Kiss & Fly zone
The launching of the Kiss & Fly zone is a next step in changing of the organization of traffic at the airport. From January 2nd the drivers pulling up to the departure hall will find closed barriers before the entrance to the first and second lane closest to the terminal. They can be opened by taking a ticket from the machine, just as in many car parks or in front of office buildings. The departure from the zone will also be blocked a barrier, which will open when you insert the ticket into the reader.

From the moment you take a ticket and enter the Kiss & Fly zone, until leaving, clock starts running: the first seven minutes will be free, stop from 7 to 15 minutes will cost 30 zlotys, and more than 15 minutes will be charged 1 zł per minute. It is worth remembering that the free stop is only possible, when the vehicle enters the Kiss & Fly zone less often than every 30 minutes. If the driver wants to enter the zone for the second time within half an hour after departure, the fee will be calculated from the time of collection of the ticket.

- Kiss & Fly Zone, we introduce is a tested solution, used at many airports in the world. It ensures the safety and smoothness of traffic in front of the terminal, and each driver who arrives at the airport in their own car, can conveniently stop the vehicle at the entrance to the departure hall - says Andrzej Ilków, deputy director of Warsaw Chopin Airport.

In the Warsaw Chopin Airport Kiss & Fly zone 89 parking spaces have been designated (an increase of 160 percent), including 5 places for the disabled. Drivers stopping in front of the terminal should be aware that it is prohibited to leave the vehicle unattended - unattended car can be towed away at the owner's expense.

- Drivers, who bring someone to the airport, can stop for a while in the zone Kiss & Fly and unload luggage from the car. But they cannot accompany a passenger to the departure lounge and wait with the person for the issuing of a boarding pass, etc. This can be done after leaving the car in the parking lot close by, where there are no such restrictions - explains director Andrzej Ilków.
