Mariusz Szpikowski


General Director of PPL, Director of Warsaw Chopin Airport

Mariusz Szpikowski has been the General Director of Polish Airports State Enterprise and Director of Warsaw Chopin Airport since January 2016.

He began his professional career at international auditing companies, KPMG and Ernst & Young. Between 2000-2006 he was the CFO and Proxy at Carrier Polska – a company from the United Technologies Corporation Group, listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Between 2007 - 2008 he spent two years as Vice-President of the Board and Financial and Commercial Director of Air Italy Polska Sp. z o.o. Next, until 2013, he was the President and Financial and Commercial Director of the company, which in 2011 changed its name to Air Poland sp. z o.o. He was the chairman of the Air Poland Supervisory Board from February to June 2013.

Mariusz Szpikowski then joined LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services (LOT AMS), where for a year, until October 2014, he served as member of the board and director for finances and restructuring. 

Between October 2014 and April 2015 he provided investment consultancy services on the foreign aviation market.
Mariusz Szpikowski’s last function before being appointed to the post of PPL General Director was to serve, as of April 2015, as member of the board for finances in a rail industry manufacturing company, H. Cegielski - Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych Sp. z o.o.

In 1996 Mariusz Szpikowski received a Master’s degree in English studies at University of Łódź. Between 1996 – 1999 he obtained Certificate Stage awarded by ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), a global professional accounting body.

Director of Financial Department

Michał Nowotny began his professional career in 1995 as an assistant in the Capital Investment and Minority Shareholdings Section at Hevelius Management, the company managing the Second National Investment Fund. Later he worked as the Economic Inspector at Wydawnictwa Szkolne i Pedagogiczne S.A. From 2000 to 2006, he was the Head of the Planning and Controlling Division at Polish Airport State Enterprise. For the next two years he served as the Director and Manager of New Assets Section at the Department of Capital Investment of PKO Bank Polski S.A. 

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Organization and Management, University of Warsaw. He completed the School of Financial Analysts and the Executive Master of Business Administration with distinction. He has attended numerous training courses in management accounting, management, financial management, value based management and specialist airport projects.

His areas of interest include the capital market, mechanisms and effects of privatization in Poland, as well as motorcycles and sports.
